Belgium Squad for FIFA World Cup 2018:
One of 2018 FIFA World Cup’s strongest squad has finally been confirmed with Roberto Martinez announcing his 28-man provisional Belgium squad. The only major missing was AS Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, who announced his national retirement after failing to make it to the World Cup. The squad is completely dominated by Premier League stars with 15 of the 28 names belonging to the English clubs. The two surprising inclusions were that of former Manchester United youngster, Adnan Januzaj, and an out of form Marouane Fellaini. The former Wigan Athletic and Everton Manager, Roberto Martinez, didn’t mind terming the exile of Nainggolan as a tactical move.
Newcastle United’s goalkeeper, Matz Sels, too found a place in the squad despite his
unimpressive stint with Newcastle.Belgium has been as ruthless as it gets since the last World Cup in Brazil. They managed to eclipse the FIFA Rankings and upstage some astonishing results in the last two-three years or so. Known for their attacking flair of football, Belgium has demolished their opponents scoring even 8-9 goals at times. They’ve scored 7 in their last two fixtures without conceding. They’re scheduled to play Portugal, Egypt, and Costa Rica, before kick-starting the 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign in Russia. They’re easily the strongest side in Group G that has England, Panama, and Tunisia. After their poor UEFA EURO campaign in 2016 that ended with a defeat to Wales in the quarterfinals, Belgium has been a side to beat as they’ve been undefeated since then.

Belgium World Cup Squad
Talking about the squad, the number one jersey is donned by Thibaut Courtois, with Matz Sels being his first choice deputy. The defence will likely have Vincent Kompany accompanied by either of Toby Alderwierald or Jan Vertonghen as Roberto Martinez has more often implied a 3-4-3 formation. The midfield is where Belgium hold the edge over everyone else with Kevin De Bruyne
